Roxanne Grobbel, JD, LCSW, RPT-S
Roxanne Grobbel, JD, LCSW, RPT-S is a licensed attorney in Florida and Michigan and practiced law before returning to school to follow her original dream of becoming a psychotherapist. She received her masters degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University and became a licensed clinical social worker. She is a certified EMDR therapist and a registered play therapy supervisor. Roxanne has over 5 years experience as an EMDR therapist. Roxanne focuses on adults in her private practice at Insight Counseling Center in Boca Raton. The majority of her clients are looking to increase their happiness, improve relationships, cope with life changes or overcome phobias, anxiety, or trauma. Using an integrated therapy approach Roxanne has been successful in helping clients resolve these issues. As an EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist, she has successfully used EMDR to treat both adults and children who have experienced trauma, stress, and fears. EMDR is a powerful therapeutic method that accelerates the treatment of a wide range of clinical issues. Often we need help to restore our level of well-being or ability to function successfully. Roxanne does this by offering a safe nonjudgmental environment and combining various types of therapies designed to meet the specific needs of the client. She also serves as Clinical Director for All ‘Bout Children, Inc. She supervises therapists who are working toward licensure and coordinates the program evaluation and research at each of the five pre-schools in which ABC has developed and conducts social and emotional wellness programs. She also supervises graduate level mental health counseling and social work interns from Florida Atlantic University, Barry University and Nova South Eastern University. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Association for Community Counseling (an all volunteer nonprofit organization providing low and no cost counseling). As an experienced play therapist and filial therapist, Roxanne has counseled parents and children facing a broad range of challenges including trauma, attachment difficulties, divorce, depression, and behavioral problems. Results from counseling include an increase in self confidence, social skills, and self-control, improved school performance for children as well as positive parenting skills for parents and improved parent child relationships. Roxanne is currently the Co-President with Jane Robinson of the Palm Beach Martin County Chapter for the Florida Association for Play Therapy. Roxanne and Jane have written a chapter, "Play Therapy Techniques with Very Young At-Risk Children in Child Care Setting" for a book edited by Charles Schaefer published August, 2008. Roxanne is an Instructor at Palm Beach State College, conducts licensure preparation courses for Clinical Social Workers, and lectures and presents workshops on various topics to mental health professionals and teachers including:
